Fabio Capillo is the Deputy Director for Houston Public Works, and he leads the Transportation & Drainage Operations for the City of Houston. In this role Fabio oversees the efficient management, maintenance, and operation of approximately 2,800 miles of roadside ditches, 3.900 miles of storm lines, 2,200 acres of green space, 16,000 lane miles of roadway pavement, more than 1,300 bridges, 2,500 traffic signals, about 1 million street signs, freeway lighting, and special event management (both planned and emergency).
Fabio obtained his degree in Material Engineering in Naples, Italy and he has 17 years of experience in the Public Works sector, working in Florida and Oklahoma prior joining the City of Houston.
He is the recipient of several awards and he had the pleasure to be a board member of the Oklahoma Traffic Engineering Association, the Intelligence Transportation Systems of Florida, and TX-APWA SE Branch.
