Bob Bennett

Bob has been active in local government since his retirement from 25 years of active service with the Army in 2016. From 2016-2019, he served as the Chief Innovation Officer for the City of Kansas City, MO in the Mayor Sly James administration. Key projects during that time included winning a transportation planning grant for the city in 2016, completing the technology projects included in the KC Streetcar corridor in 2017 and initiating a Smart City/Infrastructure Public-Private Partnership project in 2018. He left the City of Kansas City when Mayor James' term ended. Bob was elected as a Ward 2 Alderman in the City of Parkville, Missouri in April 2022 and serves as Vice Chair of the Finance Committee.

Bob chairs the Cities Today Institute, a multinational think tank for city leaders focused on including technology as one of many policy and operations management tools to solve problems in 21st Century communities. The Institute partners with SCC and produces intimate events where city leaders engage issues at a unique level of depth and collaboration with private sector partners.
