He has 3 decades in manufacturing engineering and product development, working in and around the semiconductor industry. Most recently working to develop lithium iron phosphate-based energy storage. He started out in Etch chambers at Applied Materials making semiconductor equipment and worked in CNC machine shops making both metal and quarts parts for the industry. He used PVD, Physical Vapor Deposition to make dichroic glass in the “Rock Concert Lighting Industry”. He helped create CVD, Pulsed Plasma Chemical Vapor Deposition on goose down feathers for Patagonia.
He has worked machining graphite, to make artificial heart valves, complete with a pyrolytic carbon coating. R. D. has helped design mass spectrometers and served in the Army reserves repairing electric generators. He is currently working with robotics and factory automation.
