Shawn Taikratoke is a seasoned technologist with a strong foundation in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from MIT (Course 6). He began his career at Google, where he developed advanced cloud software that streamlined infrastructure and optimized user experiences. At Apple he played a key role in the development of Apple Pay, establishing security and convenience features. Shawn later took on a principal engineer role at Fossil, overseeing the company's entry into the smartwatch market and championing new wearable technologies, which eventually became Google's Wear OS. In a separate defense endeavor, he served as the principal engineer for the Department of Defense's Switchblade missile at AeroVironment, applying his machine learning technology expertise to a critical national security initiative.
Driven by an entrepreneurial spirit, Shawn turned down a $1.3 million contract offer from Raytheon to establish Mozee, a venture focused on innovative solutions in emerging autonomous vehicle technologies. He further extends his impact by advising the AV Task Force under TXDOT, contributing invaluable insights to the evolving regulation of autonomous vehicles. Shawn's exceptional technical acumen and leadership have also earned him the distinction of being the only non-professor member of the IEEE Mobility Computer Society.
